Amy Brecount White loves using the raw power of words to explore new worlds — both real and imagined. She is the author of the young adult novel Forget-Her-Nots (Greenwillow/ HarperCollins). Her upmarket women’s novel REALITY BOUQUET explores how three very different women’s lives collide, unravel, and are created anew.

Amy and her daughter, Sam, have also put together a nonfiction book proposal for GET HEARD! How to Empower Your Voice through Better Writing, a how-to book for students and young activists ages 12 to 16.

Over 75 of Amy’s articles and essays appeared in The Washington Post. She’s written about family, education, and travel for Washingtonian, Notre Dame Magazine, Bethesda Magazine, Arlington Magazine, and Chesapeake Views. Amy received an M.A. in English from the University of Virginia. She studied Great Books and English at the University of Notre Dame.

A devoted yogi, Amy also loves to garden, hike, and roller blade.
